Vapormatt Mk.2 Gun (Auto Gun)

This blast gun may be used as an individual fixed
unit or attached to specifically designed manifolds
which reduce hoses and simplify repair work by eliminating
hose clips and ensuring that the blast stream position
is maintained after re-fitting.

Vapormatt Mk.3 Blast Gun

The Mk.3 gun is designed to replace the Mk.1 gun
in automatic machines, although it is not retro-fittable.
Its' attributes include : easy replacement of nozzle,
interchangeable air jets, minimal size supply hoses
for ease of installation, and non-seizing fixing (i.e.
circlip). It can be retro-fitted if new mountings
are provided.

This
selection of blast nozzles suit the Vapormatt
Mk1, 2 & 3 blast guns, the manifold gun, the
type "G" gun and many other makes of
blast gun. The
ideal material for a blast nozzle is boron carbide.
This has a hardness second only to diamond and
is very lightweight; however it is friable and
also expensive.
Alternatives (in decreasing wear resistance) are
:-
- Tungsten carbide
which is much heavier than boron.
- Hardened carbon
steel - much cheaper than either boron or
tungsten carbide.
- Stainless steel
- a similar price to carbon steel but non
corrosive.
- Increasing nozzle
length increases the efficiency of the gun
(the abrasive particles attain a higher velocity),
and also marginally decreases the blast pattern.
However, long nozzles can be difficult to
manoeuvre and are very delicate in boron carbide.
Vapormatt can supply any nozzle length required
in tungsten carbide, carbon or stainless steel,
the lengths shown are the most common.
- Increasing nozzle
bore increases the power of the gun, but note
that the air jet must be matched to the bore
and air consumption will increase.
Furthermore, slurry flow will increase and
the pump and/or pipe work may not be large
enough. Campbell Machinery will be pleased
to advise.
7.5mm bore x 158mm, tungsten carbide.
10mm bore x
53.5mm, boron cardbide.
10mm bore x 105mm, hardened steel.
10mm bore x 135mm, hardened steel.
10mm bore x 135mm, tungsten carbide.
12mm bore x 53.5mm, boron carbide.
12mm bore x 135mm, tungsten carbide.
12mm bore x 135mm, hardened steel.
12mm bore x 135mm, stainless steel.
12.5mm bore x 265mm, stainless steel.
14mm bore x 53.5mm, boron carbide.
